Using pre-printed forms
Chapter: Printing

You can use different kinds of pre-printed forms with CMR-JET. We recommend the use of forms for laser printers, together with a borderless printer.

Carbon copy forms

The use of carbon copy forms in standard printers is not recommended. Some printers will perfectly print carbon copy forms, including the carbon copies. Other printers will jam the forms, possibly damaging the printer. Therefore we don't recommend the use of carbon copy forms, use forms for laser printers instead.

Continous dot matrix forms

The advantage of a matrix printer is that it will always print at the correct position, with a very small error margin. Disadvantages are the more expensive forms, and the cumbersome usage. (installing & aligning forms)

If you're using dot matrix forms, make sure that the documenttype size (height & width) is correctly set. Usually a dot matrix formhas a height of around 304 mm, while a default A4 form has a height of 297 mm. If you send a A4 document to a printer with a 304 mm form, errors can occur, or documents can be printed incorrectly.

Forms for Laser printers

Forms for laser printers can be used in standard laser or inkjet printers. Usually these forms are produced in multiple pages with different colors. If you have 5 pages to print per document, you can setup CMR-JET to always send 5 copies to the printer, each time you print a document.
