When to use products

Products are usually only used when automatically generating documents. (also see: Automatically generating documents). If you fill in your documents yourself (without auto-generate), it's better to save your products as favorites of a field.

Variable fields

You can edit the CMR-JET product structure by adding or removing product fields. This way, you can synchronize the CMR-JET product structure with the product structure of your own application.

Adding variable fields

1. Click Windows -> Products
2. Click "New" on top of the productlist
3. Click "Edit variable fields"
4. Click "New" on top of the list with variable fields
5. Supply a name for the new field, and choose the appropriate data type
6. Click "Save"

The new fields will only be visible when you close and re-open the product-editor.

The different field data types

• Textfield (max 255 characters) : a text-input field, with a limit of maximum 255 characters that can be inputted.
  
  
• Textfield (unlimited number of characters) : a text-input field, with an unlimited number of characters that can be inputted. Use this datatype for large pieces of text.
  
  
• Date : A date selection field.
  
  
• Yes/no : a yes/no field
